JAX Offers Free Fares on Election Day to Boost Voter Participation
To support our community and encourage civic engagement, JAX will offer free fares on all routes this Election Day, Tuesday, November 5th. This initiative is designed to make voting easier and more accessible for residents, so whether you’re heading to your polling place, gathering with friends to vote together, or tackling Election Day errands, JAX has you covered.
All eligible voters are encouraged to take advantage of this free service and ensure their voices are heard. For polling location info, visit the Jackson County Election Polling Places page, and for route schedules, spend some time on the JAX website, ridejax.com, or track your bus live on the JAX Go App.
After you vote, explore our local community! Take the Big Muddy route to Faye’s in Murphysboro for a great lunch, hop on the Nile to picnic at Evergreen Park, or do some grovery shopping by jumping on the Sahara route and stopping by Kroger. Looking for something special? Ride the Pyramid or Big Muddy route to Neighborhood Co-op Grocery or grab a bite at Pita Alley.
