  1. Check around your seat and nearby areas. Your lost item may still be close by. Items can shift during travel, so ask nearby passengers if they’ve seen your item.
  2. Alert the driver or conductor and provide details of your lost item. They can provide assistance in searching the vehicle and also report the item if found.
  3. After your travels, contact one of our dispatchers at 618.549.0301 to inform them of the missing item. Provide any relevant details and contact information.
  4. Items may take 24 – 48 hours to reach the Lost & Found office. We ask for your patience in retrieving your item and encourage you to check in for updates.
  5. If your item is found, a representative of the transit staff will reach out and confirm when you can come into the office to retrieve the item.

To reduce the likelihood an item is lost while traveling with JAX, consider taking the following precautions:

  1. Label Your Gear: Add labels with your name and contact info. If an item is misplaced, this will provide the Lost & Found team the ability to quickly reach you.
  2. Check Your Surroundings: Before entering a JAX bus or departing at your stop, take a moment to search your area and gather all belongings.
  3. Secure Your Items: Use bags or pockets that zip up, and keep all small loose items in sealable containers. This will help ensure a small item does not slip from your bag or pocket.
